So, I had this entirely fun thing I was working on, of Mandrake, by the pool, levitating a book while she read, in a swimsuit.

Lo and behold, as I'm finishing up the sketch and prepping to start inking, my software hangs for about 2 seconds, almost like it's taking a moment to think, and then catch up. Then bam, it's gone. The window, the art, the sketch, all of it, just gone.

Needless to say I was quite irritated. I took a step back, ate dinner, fiddled around in a shoot 'em up game for a bit, and grabbed this for you guys to see.

Lesson 1: Save early, save often.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! XD

But yeah, stuff like that always seems to happen right at the end. Never like the first half hour when it's just the barest outline.

This is one of the reasons Microsoft promoted "create document, then open it" pattern.

Nobody listened. Everybody wanted to just start program and go on working. Save file? Why? It autosave… eh? Right. It only autosaves when you've already given it a name.

But see, that's the issue. I had already created and named said file, as per the procedure you've outlined.
