Why haiku?

1. Theresa's terrible at rhyming. She'd try to rhyme blue with pool or something.

2. A haiku is short. You can make one up quickly and she wants it over with.

3. She learned how to write haiku back in elementary school, which is pretty much the extent of her poetry education. Theresa just isn't the literary sort.

Now!

I want YOU to write a haiku about Mysteries of the Arcana! If I get ten haikus (by ten different readers) in the comment section by Monday I'll release an extra page next week!

Go to it!

It seems some commenters either don't know what a haiku is, or can't count syllables.

Two young female friends
Were left behind at the inn,
Enter the Hanged Man.

seeks out a poem
too desperate for relief
shortcuts are murder
the world itself revolting
better attempts must follow

(Yes, while the standard form is 5-7-5, there is an option for a 7-7 addendum. Not often done though.)

many magic worlds
diverse foreign abundant
with tales yet to tell

On a turtle's back
She found out the turtle was
On a turtle's back

Reference: Mysteries of the Arcana 2.60, "All the Way Down"

I don't actually know whether she found out the turtle-recursive nature of that arcana, but please just go with it.

P.S. I kind of feel that it's cheating to repeat the first line, but it expresses the recursive "it's turtles all the way down" idea with poetic economy, IMHO.

An odd multiverse

That has odd inhabitants
Exciting setting

A heroine pull'd
From her home to another world
Adventure awaits.

Bam. Two stanzas done.
One for my commentary.
...no comments have I.

Interesting.  I just tried to go to a movie review site from an IMDB "external reviews' link - and i wound up at the garden site. Going back and re-clicking the link (http://mysteryfile.com/blog/?p=34696) got me to the review.
