I'd say the exact opposite, myself...  There's nothing "rushed" about dealing with the main characters interacting again, after months they're both still on horrible side-quests. 

I really can't remotely understand a desire to do this when the entire sidequest series has pretty much been a large tease and waiting game for any more time dealing with them.
