Shards of Creation.  The forces of creation create something out of nothing, but at the same time, nothing out of something.  The come in pairs, creation and negation.   This is a Negation shard, matter it touches becomes raw energy again, ready to be created anew.  Their dark bretheren absorb all the energy that touches them, making them appear to be black holes in the world, but that energy is constantly transformed into matter that swirls in a fine mist/ powder around them.
